Feature Drop: Boosting Efficiency, Credit Packs, Privacy Mode, and more!
Today, we're excited to announce two significant updates to Memex that address your most frequent feedback—credit efficiency and pricing structure flexibility—as well as Privacy Mode and Summaries for new conversation context.
TLDR
Up to 50% Credit Efficiency Improvement: Backend optimizations for longer conversations
Introducing Credit Packs: Pre-paid packages with volume discounts
Privacy Mode: Now included in the Build plan
Summaries for New conversations: Allow you to start new conversations with the context of a previous one
If you are an existing user, you’ll be prompted to update the Memex App to get access to these features
Supercharged Credit Efficiency
We've been working hard on making Memex more efficient, and today we're releasing our latest round of backend improvements. These changes significantly reduce credit consumption for longer conversations without increasing the cost of shorter ones.
The result? Up to 30-50% better credit efficiency. Combined with recently released features like Code Approval, Max Turn Management, and Context Window control, you'll achieve better outcomes with fewer credits.
These optimizations work invisibly in the background, automatically making your Memex experience more cost-effective without requiring any changes to your workflow.
Introducing Credit Packs
Your feedback on pricing has been clear: you value usage-based billing for its flexibility, but post-pay structure adds friction to your usage. That's why we're introducing Credit Packs in the Build Plan.
Credit Packs are pre-paid packages of credits with volume-based discounts:
Available in sizes from 1,000 to 100,000 credits
Lower per-credit prices for larger packs as a launch offer
Credits expire 3 months after the subscription renewal following purchase
This means if you run out of the credits included in your Build Plan, you can now purchase Credit Packs instead of accumulating usage that's charged at month-end.
As part of this update:
Credits included in your Build Plan now expire after three months instead of one
Metered usage will be discontinued, with any outstanding usage charged on your renewal date
You can read more about Credit Packs and the new pricing structure in our Pricing Page.
Two more things: Privacy Mode and Summaries for New Conversations
Privacy Mode
When turned on, Privacy Mode ensures none of your code is ever stored outside your machine, giving you complete control over your information.
If you are a Build Plan user, Privacy Mode will be enabled by default .
Summaries for New Conversations
A challenge with LLMs is their limited context. With coding agents like Memex, its common for conversations to hit this limit which results in useful project context potentially not being accessible in further conversations.
Today we are introducing a feature to help you generate summaries of conversations, with special focus on their technical details, to help you start a new conversation that includes the context from the previous one.
You can prompt Memex to generate this type of summary for you by clicking on the Context Management icon on the bottom right, and clicking "Generate summary to start new conversations".

You’ll also be prompted to generate a summary if you start getting close to the model context limit.
What These Updates Mean For You
These changes give you more control over your Memex experience:
More efficient credit usage means your existing subscription goes further
Pre-paid Credit Packs provide predictability in billing, with longer expiration giving you more flexibility in how you use Memex
Privacy Mode ads a layer of privacy for Build Plan users
New summaries allow you to start new conversations where you left of in a previous one
We're committed to continuously improving Memex based on your feedback. Please keep it coming!
