Memex Officially Launching Next Week!
TL;DR: Memex comes out of stealth on April 29th! Early access to our public release is available today with new features including Checkpoints and Thinking Mode. Join our referral program to earn credits and exclusive swag by sharing Memex with others.
After months of development and refinement with our early adopters, we're excited to announce that Memex is officially launching out of stealth mode on April 29th.
This milestone represents a significant step in our mission to help Citizen Builders bring their ideas to life, regardless of tool or tech stack needs.
Early access to our public release version is available now for you to try at memex.tech! For those who haven't used Memex recently, you'll find several new improvements that enhance the platform you're already familiar with.
What's New in This Release
Building on the foundation you've been using, we've added several key features to this upcoming public version.
Thinking Mode
When enabled, Thinking Mode allows Memex to work through problems step-by-step, breaking down complex tasks into logical intermediate reasoning steps—similar to how humans approach problem-solving. You can choose from four different thinking levels, from basic reasoning for simpler tasks to comprehensive analysis for complex problems.
The process is completely transparent, letting you see exactly how Memex interprets information and arrives at solutions. While this might increase credit usage in an individual message, it typically leads to more efficient results overall by creating more focused, accurate responses and reducing unnecessary iterations.
Checkpoints
Think of Checkpoints as an automatic safety net for your project. This feature creates automatic snapshots of your work at key moments during your conversation with Memex, capturing the exact state of all your project files.
Beyond just protection, Checkpoints enables true experimentation—try different prompt structures, explore multiple solution paths, or pursue entirely different directions with the confidence that you can easily return to any previous point in your conversation. This flexibility to branch and explore makes it perfect for creative development, troubleshooting, and refining your approach.
Best of all, it works seamlessly alongside your existing Git repositories without interference, keeping your own Git history completely separate.
Improved Edits, File Handling, and Stopping
We've completely overhauled our file handling capabilities. Edits are smoother, more accurate, and stopping is now immediate—giving you greater control over your development environment.
Enhanced UI/UX
Our interface has been refined with numerous quality-of-life improvements.
You can now collapse Memex responses for easier conversation scrolling, making navigation through long sessions much more manageable.
We've implemented clearer, more informative error messages to help troubleshoot issues quickly.
In-context documentation links provide immediate access to relevant guidance when you need it.

These changes, among many others, create a more intuitive and productive experience throughout the application.
